Stupid,Irresponsible Useless Laws On The Books In NYS

Did you ever wonder what possesses politicians and law makers in general to constantly have to be passing laws that in some fashion or manner restrict an individual's freedoms and make about as much sense as a "Screen Door In A Submarine"? Perhaps when some of them are appointed or elected, they start off for a short time with good intentions, however it doesn't seem to take them long to become full of themselves. The need to restrict the activities of law abiding free people just ends up being an over whelming driving force in their existence.

Let's take a look at some of these from NYS over the years that are STILL ON THE BOOKS, and you decide:

It is illegal to congregate in public with two or more people while each wearing a mask or any face covering which disguises your identity. (WOW - imagine arresting thousands of small pre-school and grade school children every Halloween).

A fine of $25 can be levied for flirting. (IS this a PROBLEM, other than in the minds of some politician?).

New Yorker's cannot dissolve a marriage for irreconcilable differences, unless they both agree to it. (Illogical isn't it....I see a pattern here). Adds a new meaning to the phrase, "Double Talk" doesn't it!

It is against the law to throw a ball at someone’s head for fun. / NO comment needed!

The penalty for jumping off a building is death. (Thanks for sharing that with us, otherwise who woulda THUNK of that?).

A person may not walk around on Sundays with an ice cream cone in his/her pocket. (WHY not? It is their ice cream cone and their pocket and it doesn't harm anyone?).

While riding in an elevator, one must talk to no one, and fold his hands while looking toward the door. (I know I feel better knowing that).

Slippers are not to be worn after 10:00 PM. (How long did they take to get something like this on the books?).

Citizens may not greet each other by “putting one’s thumb to the nose and wiggling the fingers”. (MUST be working as I rarely see this in public. Wonder what the penalty is for this one?).

During a concert, it is illegal to eat peanuts and walk backwards on the sidewalks. (This was enacted in Greene, NY - guess I can get over my phobia and start going to concerts again?).

Eating while swimming in the ocean is prohibited. (THINK of the innocent lives this one has saved?).

People may not slurp their soup. (GOOD, Don't you just hate it when people do that?).

NYS's Illegally passed "SAFE ACT":

When I used to help write a newsletter for "S.C.O.P.E" a few years ago / Shooters Committee On Political Education, I called the State Troopers in Albany to find out statistically how many firearm related crimes were committed by NYS Pistol Permit owners. I was told ZERO. There aren't any. That has not changed.

You have to remember one simple fact when looking at most if not all of the firearms and ammo restrictions on the books.

Criminals by their very nature do not abide by any laws on the books. By definition they will also not comply with ANY of the provisions of the NYS (so called) SAFE ACT. Politicians and law makers love feel good legislation. It makes them feel better that they have passed another law and they can now tell their constituents that "AT Least We Did Something!". In reality they did. Although the legislation restricts legal law abiding firearms owners from exercising their 2nd amendment rights it is less than useless any way you look at it in preventing any further mass shootings.  IT WILL NOT PROTECT NYS Citizens from real criminals as criminals do not obey any laws to begin with.

DEFINITION OF A CRIMINAL:

adjective
  1. The definition of criminal is someone or something related to the commission of a crime.
An example of criminal is an activity where money is stolen.
noun
  1. A criminal is defined as a person who has done something illegal.
An example of a criminal is a bank robber.

IT will restrict the rights of law abiding firearms owners and pistol permit owners who are guaranteed the "RIGHT to bear arms under the 2nd amendment to the Constitution".

In essence the SAFE act broke existing laws in order to be passed. For one thing they violated the long standing 3 day waiting period to vote on legislation which was designed so that  those voting on the bill would have time to contact their constituents FIRST and obtain more information and input BEFORE voting. SECONDLY IT IS IN DIRECT VIOLATION OF THE "RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS SHALL not be infringed clause IN THE 2ND AMENDMENT.
