CLARIFICATION ON HOGUE REPLACEMENT STOCKS

I wanted to clarify the situation with the Ruger Hawkeye stocks, and the replacement of same by Hogue. There are (4) distinct series within the Hawkeye lineup.

There is the African Series which essentially is the New Ruger M77 Hawkeye in .375 Ruger and comes with an American Black Walnut stock and a red recoil pad.

There is the Alaskan series which is the new Ruger M77 Hawkeye also in .375 Ruger and that comes with an OverMolded Hogue synthetic stock. This is the stock that Hogue is replacing free of charge due to a possible inherent weakness in the original stock, especially in the pistol grip area. (SEE my previous post on this subject)

There is a Ruger M77 Hawkeye compact mdl with a 12 3/4 " length of pull, and a 16.5" bbl

The final series is the Frontier mdl similar to the above in dimensions except that is designed along the lines of Col Cooper's "scout rifle" concept and is set up front scope mounting bbl ribs for mounting a scope with long eye relief.

Hogue replacement stocks are for the Alaskan series and not the other Hawkeye series rifles.
