Range Time With The Savage .243 Win

I pulled the .243 out of storage today and went to the range with two boxes of ammo. I took Winchester 100 grain Power point Plus loads and HSM 75 grain V-Max loads.

I settled on the Win Power Point Plus loads for now. I got a 3/4 inch center to center group at 75 yards and a 1 inch group at 150 yards. I do not handload anymore and thought the 75 grain V-max would be a good buy, however I can't seem to get them to shoot well in my gun.

Anyone out there who owns a Savage and uses factory ammo that shoots real well, drop me a note on what you are using. There are no flys on the Power points, however they are a bit much for shooting woodchucks etc. They are fine for whitetails with lung shots, however I have never hunted deer with the .243 and would like to find an accurate pleasant to shoot lighter ballistic tip or V-Max type of load.
