NEW Muzzleloading Bullets This Year

I wanted to do a new post on some of the newer ML bullets available this year. As mentioned in several previous posts, I have settled on two different ML loads for this years hunting.

In my TC Encore 209/50 I am using (2) Pyrodex 50 grain pellets behind a 285 grain Barnes HP Spitzer and in my TC Thumbhole stocked Omega, I am using 110 grains of Pyrodex RS loose powder behind a Barnes 245 Grain HP Spitzer. Both loads shoot under 1 inch at 100 yards.

Bullets you might want to try this year include Power belt's NEW offering which is a 250 grain Aerolite. This essentially is a new design on the old Power belt bullet.

Powerbelt™ Aerolite Muzzle loader Bullets

Enjoy all the benefits of sabot-like performance without any of the drawbacks of using sabots. A patented snap-on base creates a perfect gas seal, resulting in consistent pressures and accuracy. Gas blow-by is eliminated, creating consistently higher velocities. Unlike sabot rounds, these projectiles are full-caliber size, are easy to load and don’t require cleaning after each shot. No plastic residue is left behind, so you can shoot up to eight shots between recommended barrel swabs. The AeroTip’s superior flight performance results in longer, flatter trajectories and controlled expansion. They’re ideal for deer, elk and black bear. Optimized for devastating terminal effect and use with 100-gr. charges which are used by most hunters. A large hollow-point cavity reduces weight and maximizes expansion. A polycarbonate tip preserves aerodynamic integrity and prevents premature expansion. Smooth, plated, accuracy-enhancing finish. A fluted, large-diameter gas check enhances shot-to-shot consistency. Per 15.
Another bullet worth taking a look at is the offering from the Resurrected Knight Rifle folks. I owned a couple of different Knight rifles over the years and had good results with both of them. It is available as I understand it in both 250 and 300 grain weights. Early reviews indicate exceptional accuracy potential.
My understanding is that it is available in both 250, 275 and 300 grain bullets and early reports show promise of exceptional accuracy. Midway USA carries these at $29.99 for a 20 pack plus shipping at the time of this post. Sorry I do not have an image to post, however you can go to Midway USA and take a look.

Get the most out of your muzzeloader by shooting accurate and consistent bullets. The Bloodline series from Knight Rifles offers just that and is designed specifically for the twist rates of today's muzzeloaders. Each brass bullet is individually CNC machined for maximum precision. 6:1 segmenting expansion increases tissue and organ damage and makes for better blood trails. The EZ-load sabot is thinner walled, making loading a breeze. The Bloodline series is proudly made in the USA.
Traditions Muzzeloading also has a new offering in a FULL BORE BULLET WITHOUT THE sabot IN 300 GRAIN PERSUASION. Sort of a spin off the power belt idea with out the plastic sleeve. Again early reports are that this load is quite accurate.
