Just wanted to add a few notes to using the Wheeler FAT wrench on your firearms:
After setting your recommended torque on the wrench and engaging the screw you wish to tighten, turn the wrench clockwise until it audibly clicks 2X which sets the torque to the adjustment on the scale. AFTER finishing the job at hand with the FAT wrench, be sure to return the torque to its lowest setting before putting the wrench away.
There are different recommended settings for DRY and LUBRICATED threads. Lubricated fasteners or screws generally need LESS torque to achieve consistent clamping power compared to dry UN-lubricated screws or fasteners.
Directions that come with the wrench kit indicate recommended torque for scope base mount screws, scope ring screws, stock screws etc.
All in all it beats sheer guesswork for non technically minded miss fits like me. Nuff said.
